In development for nearly two years, WILSCOT, LLC is proud to introduce the Featherweight turf boom. Lightweight and durable, the Featherweight’s patented design allows multiple width sprays and several other features not found on other turf booms. Fold in as needed for greens, tees, and trees and fold out for wide open spaces like fairways.
When interviewed about the need for a long boom, the superintendents’ response of “No, not interested” was unanimous! The concern was for turf damage, primarily on greens, was the driving reason.
The question was changed. When a combination boom of 20’ for greens applications that could be folded out to 30’ for fairways was suggested, the response was far more positive, “Yes that might work”.
So what changed theses superintendents’ perceptions?

WILSCOT, LLC ran with this interest resulting in the Featherweight aluminum “combo” boom options of an 18’/28.3’ with a 3-nozzle center section, and of a 20’/30’ with a 4-nozzle center section.
More efficient spraying, chemical savings, drift control, improved coverage and ease of operation with Integrated Sprayer Technologies Options:
With a broad experience in sprayer technology, WILSCOT, LLC expanded on the larger boom value by coupling the Featherweight combo boom with advanced sprayer technology options including:

Description: An “automatic tip changer” that permits a wider range of speeds and rates at a constant pressure and constant droplet size. Typically used with 18’, 20’ and 21’ booms
Values: Significant spraying time savings, immediate ON/OFF spray control at the correct rate and pressure, On-the-Go Drift control, no tip changes required. Individual nozzle overlap control equal to the number – 3 and 4 manual; and up to 16 with the addition of GPS - of rate controller boom sections.
NOTE: EVO does not require GPS for manual section control. EVO with automatic section control DOES require GPS. Will work with either WAAS based GPS or RTK based GPS systems.
